With a blend of contemporary and traditional styles of guitar playing, Riley Voth bridges the divide between the jazz, blues, rock, classical, and acoustic genres. Combined with his vocal training, he performs in diverse gig environments, always attaining a high level of professionalism and attention to nuance.

Riley Voth began playing the guitar at age 15 with hopes of performing his high school talent show. Having sung in choir for several years, his initial exposure to the guitar was as a rhythm guitar player. Finding an immediate love for the instrument, Riley taught himself music theory and fundamentals for the first two years of playing, until he met Lawrence-based guitarist, Brian Baggett, who became a long-term mentor. During his senior year of high school, Riley learned from internationally renowned acoustic guitarist, Andy McKee. After having only played guitar for two and a half years, he was accepted into the University of Kansas where he further developed his jazz understanding with Kansas City's Rod Fleeman.

Moving to Nashville, TN in the fall of 2008, Riley studied music business at Belmont University. After recording a full-length album with his band, Kadre, Riley returned to Kansas where he completed a music degree at Ottawa University, reuniting with mentor, Brian Baggett. Having performed in a variety of settings including rock and roll, blues, contemporary jazz, and various acoustic styles, Riley later found a deep love for gypsy jazz. With the creation of a gypsy jazz quartet, he began learning the style paved by Django Reinhardt.

Currently enrolled in the jazz studies master's program at the UMKC conservatory, Riley is mentored by Danny Embrey, among other local musicians in the jazz and blues circuit. Having recently formed a new incarnation of his gypsy jazz quartet, Riley plans to perform extensively in and around the Kansas City area. In addition to gypsy jazz, Riley can be found performing original solo material, and with his rock band, Up the Funx.
